We manage Repton Connect Community Centre, a vibrant hub that delivers essential services, social support, and activities for all ages. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chair of the Board of Trustees to provide leadership, governance, and guidance in shaping our future. 

About the Role 

The Chair of the Board of Trustees plays a vital role in ensuring Repton Community Trust continues to be a sustainable, well-governed, and impactful organisation. You will provide strategic oversight, support the CEO and leadership team, and ensure the Board operates effectively to uphold the Trust’s mission and values. 

As Chair, you will act as a key ambassador for the Trust, strengthening relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders to drive long-term growth and sustainability. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring the Trust meets its mission, vision, and strategic objectives. 
  • Support and challenge the CEO and leadership team, providing guidance on strategic and operational matters. 
  • Ensure strong governance and financial oversight, upholding regulatory compliance and best practices. 
  • Lead and develop an engaged and effective Board, ensuring Trustees work collaboratively and contribute meaningfully. 
  • Act as a key ambassador, strengthening partnerships with funders, local authorities, businesses, and the wider community. 
  • Ensure accountability and transparency, monitoring the Trust’s performance against its goals. 
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and community empowerment, ensuring the Trust remains responsive to local needs. 

Who We’re Looking For 

  • Proven leadership experience at a senior or board level, ideally within the charity, public, or community sector. 
  • Strong governance knowledge, with an understanding of charity regulations and financial oversight. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to inspire and influence. 
  • Strategic thinker, capable of driving innovation, growth, and long-term sustainability. 
  • Passion for community development and social impact, with a deep commitment to Repton’s mission. 
  • Prior experience as a Trustee, Non-Executive Director, or Chair is desirable but not essential.
