About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Food Projects Manager to lead and develop our food-based initiatives. This role is vital in ensuring local families and individuals have access to nutritious food, reducing food poverty, and promoting healthier lifestyles. You will manage the existing food programmes, such as community meals, surplus food redistribution, and education projects, while developing new initiatives to meet growing community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and expand our food programmes, including community meals, surplus food distribution, and food education workshops.
- Develop partnerships with local suppliers, supermarkets, charities, and funding bodies to secure food donations and grants.
- Manage budgets and funding applications, ensuring long-term sustainability of food initiatives.
- Oversee volunteer coordination, ensuring effective training, engagement, and support.
- Promote food education and healthy eating, delivering workshops and campaigns in collaboration with local organisations.
- Ensure all food operations comply with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
- Monitor and evaluate project impact, using data to improve services and demonstrate outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Experience in food project management, community work, or the charity sector.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for tackling food poverty and promoting dignity in food support.
- Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and experience in securing funding is desirable.
